Epic fantasy genre is a very broad and covers a lot of work that has been defined in many ways different from fantasy to fantasy for children high fantasy. The writers have been breaking new ground and explore new ideas and concepts in the genre since its inception. Here are some of the women writers pioneering the genre of epic fantasy.
Edith Nesbit – She was born in 1858 and was a prolific writer who is generally regarded as the originator of the genre of children's fantasy novel. She created the idea of several children who embark on a magical adventure of tail. This is an issue and a tool that still stands very strong to this day with works such as The Chronicles of Narnia. Some of his most famous works include Five Children and It (1902) and The Story of the Amulet (1905). His work has fallen into the public domain so you can get copies and read your book for free.
Ursula K. Le Guin – Le Guin is a prolific writer who shot to fame in the sixties and seventies with a series of books that were exchanged between the genres of science fiction and fantasy. His mark was made in the genre of epic fantasy with the publication of his novel entitled "A Wizard of Earthsea, which is the first book of a quartet that takes place in a world (Terramar), which is still writing today. The main argument of this first book of Earthsea is a young boy who has magical powers and gets to the magic school. Sound familiar? This is a fine series of books that take place in a world full craftsmanship with wizards and dragons.
Marion Zimmer Bradley – was another prolific author who wrote some science fiction, but focused mainly on fantasy. His most famous work is a signature piece in the entire realm of fantasy called The Mists of Avalon (1979) and is a narration of the tales of Camelot, from the standpoint of women and Morgaine Gwenhwyfar. Bradley and his Avalon book series has been a major force in development of a whole generation of women writers. And books are an addition to the subgenus Avalon triumphant set of writing of Arthur.
Anne McCaffrey – McCaffrey is an author in the realm of fantasy made and created much of what modern epic fantasy saga question. She is one of the creators of the template writers follow to this day. She has done this with the volume of nineteen Dragon Riders of Pern books. Pern is a world full with a fully developed story, the society and economy. The world of Pern has inspired many different media including a vibrating rod enthusiast community, and a forthcoming video game motion picture. This is pure epic fantasy at its best.
JK Rowling – Is there anything I can say about the Harry Potter phenomenon has not been said? His books are wonderful and a huge success, but I think his real gift for the genre is the bridge has been built between past and future. She, herself, has had a tremendous impact on the genre of fantasy. And she undoubtedly be seen as the inspiration for a whole new generation of writers over the next decades, to be added to grow and the genre of epic fantasy in a wonderful and new.
Epic fantasy is a genre of writing that has writers been deeply shocked and grown by women and there are literally hundreds of great writers that I may have discussed in this article. These five are just what I consider between some of the most influential and important when analyzing the evolution of the genre as a whole.
