I’m so tired of trying to change myself, always for the convenience of you,
You point your finger high, wicked and twisted, bleeding and unassisted,
You’re everything despised by all of view.
I hand you this icon of reflection, analyze it’s ability towards yourself,
You sit alone and undone, scrapping the land for someone,
Only to find your hatred towards yourself.
Your morals of once pristine judgment have corrupted, crestfallen by your heart,
Your the cause of your unhappiness, it wasn’t your rocky start,
You’ve infected all you thought dear, lost all those who believed,
Yet you point your finger of judgment piously,
But we all know you’ve abandoned everything you once believed.
Take hope in the urgency of now, your heart may soon decay,
Rotten and abused, clinched yet unused,
Your the one who needs to change your ways,
Feel the presence all around you, forget about your silly needs,
Avoid that ending of your life, The chronicles of wicked irony.
I think you have a really good idea here. You start out with some good imagery and then it disappears.
It’s a tough job trying to get out everything you are thinking.
Sometimes that hurts the flow of the words. If you read it out loud you might find yourself tripping on some of the words.
I like the poem, it just needs a little editing.
Nothing is harder because when we are excited we feel like each word was forged by the gods.
Just don’t let the words get in the way of the poem.
Some of your points might be better conveyed with
more imagery. Your first bit of imagery kept this as a
poem rather than prose. Tighten it up and you’ll have something very sharp and fresh.
