This movie begins when the Grace family (Jared, his twin brother Simon their sister Mallory and their mother) move from New York to a secluded old house the "Spiderwick Estate ". Soon after moving to this house of the Grace family starts to notice the disappearance of many objects and strange accidents that occur daily, since the family has no idea what "really" is happening around them tend to blame it all on Jared (the naughty boy of the family).
This old house belonged to Arthur Spiderwick, the children's fine, man. Once packaging has had enough of taking all the blame for what the "irregularities" that are happening in her big house of his uncle, he and his brothers start investigating at the house but little is known about the incredible reality of the Spiderwick estate. Many of the creatures they discover are invisible and can only be seen with the stone "see" or every time I wanted to see. All these events begin to happen one Once Jared opens a book that contained a note warning of the dangers involved with take a quick look inside.
While the story of the film is completely unique, has many similarities with the movies we've seen in the past such as Pam's Labyrinth, The Chronicles of Narnia, and others who fall into the fantasy / Adventure / Drama category. The main cast consists of: Freddy Highmore (Jared / Simon Grace), Sarah Bolger (Mallory Grace) and many others lend their voices fantastic creatures that appear more in the film.
Some of the creatures in this film are:
Goblins: These are the frog-like creatures with short legs and a big mouth, who travel in packs in the forests and the hit squad from a single goblin is not very dangerous, despite their short legs these creatures can move quickly. Almost all the weapons they use are made from human artifacts lost or stolen.
Sprites: This is one of the creatures beautiful and well known in the film, which are similar to fairies. At night, their bodies produce a faint glow that is often confused with fireflies
Brownies: These unique creatures despite their appearance can be quite useful, adhere to human homes in order to help protect the welfare of people living within it, which however have a dark side, if someone exploits them or anger that they can become "Boggarts" which is a larger version, more most fearsome green and the Brownie.
These are some characters that are unique within the development of Spiderwick, which is sure to capture attention, the film actually features dozens of creatures that can only be seen if you have sight or stone.
