What is the name of this Velcro alternative?
I’m trying to find this Velcro alternative. It is sort of like a cross between Velcro and snaps. The first time I saw it was on a DVD box set for Pitch Black, [animated sequel I currently cannot remember], and The Chronicles of Riddick. What this material consisted of were small, spherical islands on top of stalks. When pressed together, they would interlock, making a snapping sound. A similar sound is produced when pulled apart, as opposed to the ripping sound of Velcro.
I have found something similar on the following link. It’s a bit smarter – for want of a better word – than the design that I just described, but it is essentially the same thing.
