2 chronicles 26 5
Did Solomon build a facility containing 2,000 baths (1 Kings 7:26), or over 3,000 baths (2 Chronicles 4:5?

At first glance it looked like a contradiction. But what is a “bath”? And what is a “molten sea”? A “bath” is a unit of measurement that is equivalent to 8 gallons of water. While the “molten sea” is a very large brass pan, in which they put water for the priests to wash in. 1 Kings describe how much the molten sea was usually filled, it was 2,000 baths. 2 Chronicles specified the capacity of the molten sea when filled to the brim, which was 3,000 baths. Therefore both passages are correct.

Badong makes sense. Keep searching the scriptures. God is trying to reach you.

Vizualization

Visualization

O Lord God of Abraham, Isaac and of Israel, our fathers, keep this forever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of thy people, and prepare their heart unto thee (1 Chronicles 29:18, KJV, emphasis added).

God is creator of all things and without Him was not anything made that was made and for His pleasure and glory He created them. He was before all things and all things created, that are in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, thrones, dominions, principalities or powers were created by Him, and for Him (Colossians 1:16-17).

God is the One, which calls those things, which do not exist as though they did. The Lord in the imagination of His heart saw beforehand the things, which He called into existence. God in His omniscience imagined the worlds before He framed them by His word. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things, which are seen, were not made of things, which are visible (Hebrews 11:3, emphasis added).

The use of the imagination is a willful act to form visual images and auditory sounds in the mind to recall a previous experience or to form an idea of something never witnessed. The imagination is part of the conscience and is at work all the time.

The imagination is in operation when you daydream, fantasize, planning and budgeting, visualizing places or people never seen before and when you relive or recall previous experiences or occurrences. The imagination is also active when you see visions and dreaming dreams.

Without an imagination man is void of any creativeness and innovative ability and has conform to an animal level of existence.

When God created man, He created him with an imagination. In His own image and according to His own likeness He created him. God gave man His imagination. We, the heirs of salvation, are heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ. To Abraham and his Seed, who is Christ, the promises were made. God gave it to Abraham by promise. These promises are the vision of God, which we must appropriate by faith. For this we need our imaginations to see it by revelation, which is in the realm of Spirit. The believing eyes shall see.

The imagination of man is the very basis of his faith system. As a man thinks in his heart, so is he. The thought patterns and imagination of man’s heart makes man who he is. Man must imagine his vision and write it down in plain language on the tablets of his heart by meditating on it that by faith he may run with it. O, fellow soldiers of the Lord you are the oracles of God and the word of the Lord shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that it may become a real manifestation in the flesh. Do not fall behind in the mercy and truth of our Lord Jesus Christ but bind the word of God around your neck, write them on the tablets of your heart. Indeed you are an epistle of Christ written not with ink but by the Holy Spirit on the tablets of flesh that is of the heart.

Unless we meditate on the word of God, using our imagination, the word of God will not take root in our heart. For the gospel is preached both to the fruitful and the unfruitful but the word, which the unfruitful heard did not profit them because it was not united with faith in those who heard it. They have eyes to see but do not see. You need to spend time with the Word to become the Word. Those who believe the word of God do enter into the rest of God. For God swore in His wrath that the disobedient, the unfaithful to Christ, shall not enter into His rest. For he who has entered His rest has himself ceased from the works of the law and by faith entered into the complete work of Christ, which is the rest of God. There remains a rest for some to enter into the complete work of Christ, but those to whom it first was preached did not enter in because of their inability to keep the law. The law is spiritual and flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of heaven and for this reason that which is earthy cannot comply with that which is from heaven.

There are those that receive the word in stony hearts, they may receive it with joy but do not have root in themselves and it is evident in that they do not stay with the word that came to them. To stay with the word is to visualize it continuously in your meditation. When continuously meditating on the Word, to become it, it is the way to prosperity and you will have good success for godliness is profitable for all things. Faith came by hearing and hearing or revelation by the word of God. He that sticks to the end with the Word, who is Christ, shall be saved. The word of God is summed up in loving the Lord your God with everything within you and your neighbor as yourself.

By the word of the Lord you come to know the Lord and it leads you into paths of loving your neighbor. The Spirit of the Word keeps you back from deadly legalism that may take dominion over your life and separates you from the life in Christ. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly so that the mercy, grace and the loving kindness of the Lord may be revealed in your life. By the blood of the Lamb and by the vision of God that burns in your heart you shall overcome and inherit the crown of life. If the word of the Lord is written in your heart Christ within you is revealed through the work of the cross. For those who live according to the Spirit set their imagination of their hearts on the things of the Spirit, which is life and peace. There is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit where life and peace dwells.

Visualization is a healthy technique to absorb the word of God into your heart until it becomes a deep-rooted revelation in your spirit that results in faithfulness and acts of righteousness that please God. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrews 11:1).

The imagination of an unredeemed man’s heart is evil from his youth and deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked. Who can understand or perceive the depth of its corruption? He is born in sin and by the evil intentions and imaginations of his unredeemed heart he is shaped in unrighteousness. He looks at a woman with lust and by so doing commits adultery with her in his heart. He hates his neighbor and murders him in his imagination. By deceitful scheming he lays snares for the righteous and robs the houses of the widow, orphan and the poor. All these evil starts in the imagination of his darkened heart.

There are also of the unredeemed that seems to be good people but only God is good. Some lamas of Tibet live probably a better moral life then most Christians. However, the god of this world, Satan, has blinded their hearts with his deceptive lies. Satan is a murderer from the beginning and stand not in the truth for he is a liar and the father thereof. Regardless their behavior they still walk in the futility of their minds because of their darkened understanding of the essence of life. They are alienated from the life of God, because the blindness of their heart causes the ignorance that is in them.

When a man turns to Christ the veil that blinds his mind is taken away. Unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God. When you are raised with Christ you should seek the things of the Spirit and not place your focus on natural things. First seek the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things will be added to you. When your have developed a heart for God you will move into the one world of Christ where the things of the Spirit and natural things blend into one kingdom, the kingdom of His beloved Son. For all the kingdoms of this world will become the kingdom of our God and of His Christ. All things must be subjected to His lordship. Your cry will become, “O, God let Your kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.”

We are accepted in the Beloved by being born of the Spirit. Old things have passed away and new things are at hand. It is a dawning of a new day for us, a day in the Spirit that shall never end. Often how tragic we missed Christ and Him crucified because after starting through faith we revert back to the works of the law to be made perfect by the flesh. To behold vain visions of legalism is false vision and flattering divination in the house of the Lord. To be entangled by the law, Christ will profit you nothing. It was for freedom in the Spirit that He set us free from the yoke of the law. We are not to behave ourselves according to fleshly wisdom but to appropriate the grace of God through faith. For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. O, that we may grow in spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Christ and that the eyes of our understanding may be open to see the hope of His calling and to see how great is His inheritance in the saints. Is it not for us who are called according to His purpose to behold Christ and to grow into all aspects into Him? As we behold the glory of the Lord we are transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as the Spirit of the Lord.

We should know the Lord in all our ways and thus we should set our hearts to seek the will of the Lord. It is for us to seek out wisdom and instruction and to cry out for discernment. If we search for it as silver and like hidden treasure we will understand the fear of the Lord and discover the will of God for our lives. When king Nebuchadnezzar was meditating upon his bed about what will happen after his rule, God answered him in a dream. When meditating on issues in your heart God can answer you in various ways, not only in dreams. It is vain to rise up early and to stay up late to search answers while in distress because God give answers to His beloved in their sleep. When man is at rest and at peace the Lord gives the answer on the meditation of his heart. Visualization is the process beyond meditation. It is to visualize the answer from the Lord. Without an answer from God we wonder around in the futility of our minds and without a vision we perish.

The Word of God is a person, namely our Lord Jesus Christ. He is God and was in the beginning with God. The Word became flesh and dwelt among us. He is the first of many brethren. Our delight shall be in the Word of God and we shall meditate it day and night for then we will have peace and life and the Word will become flesh in us. As we are encouraged to pray without ceasing we are to meditate also on the Word without ceasing.

What shall our meditation be about? We are to meditate on the word of God. For the word of God is living and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and the intents of the heart (Hebrews 4:11). The word of God is Spirit and life and by hiding the word of the Lord in your heart you experience a change in your spirit and you become fruitful. Absorbing the Word allowed you to a make a transition from a soulish life to a life in the Spirit. This is the way to experience the Word who is Christ. In the word, the Lord reveals Himself to you and you change from glory to glory as you behold Him in the Spirit.

We should meditate on the mighty works of God. We learn that from the beginning of the creation of the world the invisible attributes of God are clearly seen and understood through the things that were made and it witnesses His eternal power and Godhead. If we do not retain God in our knowledge, God will give us over to a debased mind and we will become darkened in our hearts that may result in different acts of foolishness. So, to meditate on the mighty works of God we do not only get knowledgeable about creation but we get to an understanding of His eternal power and Godhead.

We should meditate on the will of God for our lives according to the anointing that is working in us. Paul admonished Timothy by saying, “Do not neglect the gift the gift that is in you, which was given to you by prophecy with the laying on of hands of the eldership. Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your progress may be evident to all” (1 Timothy 4:14-15).

I know a prophet of God that is mightily used in the healing and signs and wonders ministry. He has even raised the dead. He emphasizes that every thought must be brought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. Of cause it is not a legalistic exercise. It is to please God with the meditation of our heart and to grow strong in faith. He says that he and his mind are friends. When he visualizes church services he often preach sermons and heal the sick. Occasionally, the actual services and the visualization in the meditation of his heart turned out to be identical. It is the same people he saw with the same sicknesses and the same revelation he received concerning the sick. So, the Holy Spirit does anoint sanctified imagination and the revelation gifts can function in these situations.

I know of a man that is a great lover of classical music. He is also a songwriter and musician. He told me that sometimes he sat down, relaxes himself and close his eyes and start listening to unheard symphonies that is still to be composed by master musicians. When I was young I thought this man was weird until I started to understand what it was all about. There is one thing I could never understand. Why this talented man, in music, not composing these symphonies that he was hearing in his imagination? I think it is because he does not see himself as a composer of this music. He is waiting for someone else, which he believes is a master musician that is qualified to write it. I know he is able to do it, but because of unbelief he is wasting his talent.

How do we meditate and visualize? Normally it is an instinctive and involuntary process. Most often the thoughts and visions of the mind are rushed and undisciplined. A disciplined mind should bring every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.

Firstly, your heart must be at peace and at rest and you must get silent inside your innermost being. When I remember You (focus on Christ) on my bed (place of rest), I meditate on You in the night watches (time of silence) (Psalm 63:6). Be silent and know that the Lord is God. By focusing on Christ you enter into His rest and His silence, not your own, so that the excellence of the glory is His. So we need to enter into the silence of Christ while focusing on Him, just as He had peace in the boat during the storm. Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (John 14:27, emphasis added).

Secondly, you must open your spirit to God. It is difficult to open your spirit to God if you are not walking in the obedience and discipline of Christ. On the cross, He took upon Him your disobedience and undisciplined lifestyle that you may walk in His obedience and discipline. It was bought for you on the cross, so that you can appropriate it through faith. His yoke is easy and His burden is light. The glory that the Father has given the Son, He has given to you that you may do the works of God. It is Christ within you the hope of glory and not your own ability. How can you that is imperfect, through legalism, please Him that is perfect? The key is to keep your eye on Jesus the author and finisher of your perfection and enter into His openness to the Father through faith. Praying in the Spirit and worshiping God helps to open up your Spirit more. Without a focus of faith on Christ and the help of the Holy Spirit you can do nothing but to enter into the religious works of the flesh.

Thirdly, we need to focus on the word of God or object of meditation, which may include a problem, invention or project. We need to know the Lord in all our ways and not to lean on our own understanding. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy – meditate on these things (Philippians 4:8).

It is important to look unto Jesus when you meditate or visualizing. When your meditation is filled with the Word and the Spirit then it is Spirit and Live. If it is void of the Holy Spirit it is as dead as a body with out the spirit, in other words, as worthless as a corpse. The letter kills but the Spirit makes alive. Thus says the Lord of hosts: Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you. They make you worthless; they speak a vision of their own heart, not from the mouth of the Lord (Jeremiah 23:16).

Fourthly, Talk to the Lord concerning your question and ask for the answer. It is the glory of God to conceal a matter, but the glory of kings is to search out a matter (Proverbs 25:2).

Fifthly, record your answer. Then the Lord answered me and said: “Write the vision and make it plain on tablets, that he may run who reads it” (Habakkuk 2:2). The impressions that you have recorded should also agree with the Scriptures. The Holy Spirit and the Word is one and shall never disagree.

Sometimes you receive a witness from the Holy Spirit concerning personal matters, which cannot be verified in the Scriptures. Time alone can prove if it was a word from God or not. Sometimes you receive conformation of that which was spoken by the Spirit but it does not always happened.

Of cause you will make mistakes. How else will you learn? You need to practice to discern if your meditation is from the Holy Spirit or from your own heart. If you are scared to make mistakes and do nothing about it you will only behold your circumstances. If you are faithful to seek the Lord in all your ways you will come to know His voice. Without a vision you will perish.

Sift, sort and evaluate. After you have recorded the impressions that came to you, you must sift sort and evaluate it to differentiate between carnal input and what was from the Spirit. I normally go through this exercise over and over. Because these impressions are recorded it leave you with the opportunity to come back to it as often as you want.

I am using a word processing program to update my devotional journal because it makes it easy for me to chop and change.

The Holy Spirit very often gives you an unfolding revelation of the will of God. So in recording your revelation you can discover after a week or longer what the Lord’s will is for your life or you may discover what the Lord is working out in your life. For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept, line upon line, line upon line, here a little, there a little (Isaiah 28:10).

Lastly, take responsibility for what the Holy Spirit has revealed to you. Visualize the answer. Meditate on the answer and pray it through until its fulfillment and maturity. As long as you cry out for wisdom and understanding in what God has revealed to you, He will let you prosper in all areas of your life. And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God; and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him to prosper (2 Chronicles 26:5).

If I know what to pray then I know how to visualize the outcome. If I do not sense a definite answer I will base my visualization and meditation on the promises of God. I know what God is talking to me in general because I have a dream and vision journal and a journal where I record revelation I receive in the Scriptures. So it is very handy to go back to it. Occasionally you need more specific revelation on certain matters and then you need to seek God’s face.

A man of God, which lives in China, went abroad by invitation to minister to other saints. While he was absent from his home he received a message that his son died. He instructed the people at home not to remove his son’s body. He went back home. At his arrival he immediately went to his son’s dead body with the intention to raise him from the dead. He prayed and prayed and prayed but nothing happened. Then the Holy Spirit told him that he was keep on looking at the dead body of his son. Then the Holy Spirit instructed him to go and stand at the window. The Holy Spirit told him that when he can see his son running and playing on the lawn his son would return to life. He walked to the window and start gazing through it but initially he did not see anything. The moment he saw his son running and playing on the lawn he called to him and he was resurrected from the dead.

The imagination can be used either to stimulate faith in God or to make you tremble in unbelief. Consider the episode with Israel when the twelve spies were send out to bring report about the land that God had promised to Abraham by oath.

Moses gave the twelve spies the following instruction: “Go up this way into the South, and go up into the mountains, and see what the land is like: whether the people who dwell in it are strong or weak, few or many; whether the land they dwell in is good or bad; whether the cities they inhabit are like camps or strongholds; whether the land is rich or poor; and whether there are forests there or not. Be of good courage. And bring some of the fruit of the land” (Numbers 13:17b-20a).

Moses needed this strategic information to take the land. They are not to be ignorant about the enemy’s devices. He also told them to be of good courage. Ten of the twelve spies did not remember this neither have they remembered the covenant that God has made to Abraham. These ten spies used as input into their imaginations the facts that they have seen. They imagined visions of horror and pending doom. They imparted their visions of fear to the people of Israel. They were a cause of stumbling. Because of their evil report the people sinned against God. Fear stimulates unbelief, which is sin, and deception.

Joshua and Caleb were of a different spirit. They witnessed exactly the same as the other ten spies with their physical eyes but their report differ from the ten others. This is the picture that they brought back to the people of Israel: “The land we passed through to spy out is exceedingly good land. If the Lord delights in us, then He will bring us into this land and give it to us, a land which flows with milk and honey. Only do not rebel against the Lord, nor fear the people of the land, for they are our bread; their protection has departed from them, and the Lord is with us. Do not fear them” (Numbers 14:7b-9).

Joshua and Caleb brought the focus every time back to the Lord. It was not what they have seen but that which God has spoken. They saw giants but God said they are destroyed. They were feeling like grasshoppers in their own sight and in the sight of the people of the land. They believed God said they are mighty men of valor, the army of the Lord. They saw fortified cities in the land but they believed God for the victory. They saw people stronger then themselves. They believed God that the enemy will come in one way but they will flee in seven ways. It was not what they have seen with the natural eye that they regard as reality but they have regarded the will of God as the only source of authority. It was not what they have seen but that which God has promised to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. It was not what they have seen but that which God has spoken. They behold the word of the Lord with the eyes of their hearts lest they sin against God in unbelief.

Because of unbelief a whole generation, except for Joshua and Caleb, perished in the desert. The Promised Land was given to the next generation and their descendents to possess. When God commissioned Joshua to take the Promised Land, God gave him the following instruction: This book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success (Joshua 1:8).

Live a life where the meditation of your heart is acceptable to God. Put on the mind of Christ.

Queensryche’s follow-up to the double-platinum Empire is something of an acquired taste, but it’s well worth the effort. There’s considerable variety here; the heavy progressive-rock of “I Am I” and the ballad “Bridge” were hit singles, but there’s also the funk-inflected “Disconnected”, the edgy, spooky “Lady Jane”, and the piano-and-vocals “Someone Else?”. The title track is probably the stronge…
