Which of these serifs do you think pairs better with Gotham and why: Chronicle Text and Mercury Text.?
I’m working on a publication proposal and I’ve been looking at choosing a decent, all-around serif typeface for the text in my group’s publications. For headlines, I’m using Tungsten. For bylines, I’ve chosen Gotham. Now, for all body text, I’ve narrowed down my choice between Chronicle and Mercury. I like the natural tracking of Mercury and it has a more contemporary look to me than Chronicle. But Chronicle looks so solid to me and I love how uniformed it looks.
Can anyone help me with this?

Which ‘classic’ book do you love more than the others?
Such as any Jane Austen/William Shakespeare/Agatha Christie novels, Lord of the Rings, The Great Gatsby, Of Mice & Men.. etc etc. List goes 12 metres on in exceptionally tiny font.
I’m not a huge reader of classics, I’m trying to pile up a list of them to read but at the moment I’m starting with Jane Austen and I absolutely love Pride & Prejudice at the moment. It’s fantastic!
I also love The Chronicles of Narnia, they’ll always be a childhood favourite.
In saying your favourite classics, I might as well add another optional question: what is your least favourite ‘classic’?

I’ve lately gained an appreciation for the classics. i used to think they were outdated and boring, but I think that’s because I didn’t understand them.
I’ve been reading a lot of them lately, and I’m in love. A lot of them have great storylines and fantastic characters.
I used to hate Pride and Prejudice. I started reading it when I was 13, and gave up. It bored me. I read it again when I was 18 and I started to see what other people saw in it. It’s romantic, and I really liked how realistic I found the characters. I always thought that maybe there was more to Wickham than everyone else saw.
I also think that Captain Wentworth from Persuasion is my favourite romantic lead ever to appear in a novel. He’s dreamy.
I like the Anne of Green Gables series by LM Mongomery. I think they are sort of cute in a way.
I think that Bram Stoker’s Dracula is a great novel that creeps me out so much.
The Chronicles of Narnia… I carried that book (a collection with all of them) around with me right through high school. I must have read them a hundred times. I loved them. Aslan is awesome.

I haven’t liked Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte. And for some reason, I keep talking about it. I re-read it a few months ago. And whilst I still found the characters vile, and I hated the way they treated everyone, and I thought their love was one of those things that seemed to be all in the chase, I found myself realizing why other people may like it.
I also dislike Catcher in the Rye. Does it count as a classic? All I know is that I don’t get it. I understand that considering the times, it’s supposed to be something revolutionary, but I don’t see any of that. I just see a guy, running around the city for a few days.
